This video just gives an overview of why I withdrew my kids from Connections Academy before the school year ended and went back to “regular” homeschooling. We started in January 2012 and I withdrew them in March 2012.
I had recently heard of A Beka Academy (a Christian school) online / DVD homeschooling, where essentially it is like videos of a really good teacher in each subject, and everything including lesson plans and test keys is given to you.
This summer, I’m planning to ask a neighbor about it who I think might have graduated from that system.
I’ve been thinking of possibly adopting 40 kids single-dad-style with a nanny to help since I heard of the video classroom thing. In theory, a “video-classroom” also frees up more time for business stuff while somebody else does the teaching. I’d not really thought single-parent homeschooling was even very possible before I heard of that “video classroom” concept. On the bright side, if it works, I’d guess it would free up a lot of time and thus reduce a lot of stress all around. There’s also like a whole world of homeschooling advice blogs, but I’d guess you’re probably aware of those already.
May God bless,
